Group activities and acting out made-up stories can totally involve the 7-year-old.
But at this age the child also discovers the joy of playing alone.
A definite separation of boys and girls is evident at seven. Kids love to get together to build forts or play houses. At this age, peer teasing picks up. Children who read a lot or are read to have the verbal advantage in dealing with teasing. Books and games can sharpen those verbal skills.
